The Main Square of Machu Picchu
The central grassy area is called the Main Square, which separates
the urban sector (on the right) from the sacred sector on the left.

Looking straight across the Main Square to the urban sector and the
great skyline behind it.


The architecture for the laborers and town people was built to
last just like in the sacred sector.

Stone construction was always built to the "living rock." Now, we just
blast the stone away. Huayna Picchu is in the background. More
about THAT later!


The lone tree in the grass, shared only with the llama lawn mowers.
